MLS is held free of charge for all attending students ambassadors & their schools. Seminar has an annual cost of $40,000, which is raised by our 100% volunteer Board of Directors and staff for each year.
The Board of Directors works year-round to fundraise, recruit more schools, plan programming, & train staff. We appreciate your generosity at every dollar amount, and we assure that your donations go towards changing lives by keeping MLS accessible to all students across demographics, covering room & board costs, purchasing service project materials, & providing a venue for Missourians to meet for collaboration.

Sponsor the Weekend
The opportunity, recently developed by our Grants. Fundraising, & Donations (GFD) team, is a huge way that Seminar financially continues. There are different levels of sponsorship depending on the contribution amount and capacity of your company/organization, and all are vital to the production of our weekend. Please reach out to give@moleadership.com with any questions, and our team will be elated to hear from you!
If you or any personal connections work at a corporate or large company especially, we encourage you to reach out to see their “corporate giving” budget and how you can facilitate support of Seminar. As a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, MLS thrives on sponsorships from generous groups that see the large value of Seminar.
Sponsor a Student
We have students nominated then sponsored from all over Missouri, and our Recruitment team works diligently to ensure that schools both small and large, urban and rural, and near and far are represented. When you elect to sponsor a student, you are personally endowing an opportunity to attend a unique weekend that will not be forgotten.
Personal sponsorships are $350 per student ambassador.
Every sponsor will receive a hand-written thank-you letter directly from the sponsored student, providing a description of students’ experiences and transformation. If you or your organization would like to sponsor an ambassador from a specific school, please contact give@moleadership.com & registration@moleadership.com!

Donate Gifts in Kind
Seminar has purchases that we make each year in order to host the weekend and fulfill community service needs. By asking your workplace, friends, family, or a business near you to donate one or more of these items, you are saving us a huge expense.
Larger businesses like Walmart & Target often grant gift cards to individuals who support non-profits like MLS at no charge so we encourage you to explore the connections possible there. Opportunities like that are perfect ways to utilize our elevator pitch!
Speak to a School, Business, or Company
Whether you are an alumni of Missouri Leadership Seminar, a family member of an alumnus, or simply someone who wants to get involved with an impactful non-profit, you can make a difference with a few words. One of the skills that MLS fosters & enables is networking, and networking can happen anywhere & anytime.
We call you to action to spark conversation about MLS! Power lies in community, and each conversation can become a stepping stone to recruiting a new volunteer, a donor, or a sponsor, especially if you use your PMA (Positive Mental Attitude)!
Speaking to groups does not have to be intimidating or scary, and we would love to hear about MLS alumni organizing gatherings to go speak together! Please reach out to give@moleadership.com for advice, preparation support, and fundraising materials! You got this!
Some ideas:
Reach out to your own employer to inquire about “corporate giving”
Speak about your MLS experience to a local civic club like Optimist Club or Elks Lodge, mention that students across Missouri can be sponsored & what makes MLS special (accessibility of 0 cost, non-profit, 100% volunteer-run, central location of event, etc.)
Ask local shops if you can post an MLS flyer on bulletin boards
Utilize social media to repost MLS content, post the PayPal link, & participate in fundraising trends like Bingo boards, pledges, challenges, anything to start the ripple of word-of-mouth!
Recall a donation that you’ve made & how that cause got your attention/support— what can you do to emulate that for MLS?

We also invite alumni to join our Annual Alumni Pledge Drive where alumni can match their “ambassador year” in funds donated!
For example, if your ambassador year was 2013, you can make a donation for $13! Tell your friends & family about the drive— your donated pledge might turn into 2!
