The nomination form requests basic school information, including the school's address and contact information. Nothing! Attendance, lodging, meals, and programming are provided at no cost to families and schools. The only thing MLS does not cover is transportation to and from Seminar. We do not want transportation to be a barrier for your nominated student, please reach out to registration@moleadership.com so that we can explore potential transportation assistance.

Some students may be hesitant to participate simply because they are unsure of what to expect. Encourage students to view MLS as an opportunity to meet students from across Missouri, make new friends, and develop valuable leadership and communication skills. Students who plan to attend college can gain experiences to highlight on college and scholarship applications, while students entering the workforce or pursuing other paths can build skills, confidence, and connections that will benefit them after high school. MLS also gives students the chance to experience a college campus while participating in a fun weekend away from home.
Our goal in this leadership seminar is to cultivate leadership qualities in the person you nominate. Some of our past attendees have been noted as “a student who just needed an extra nudge to reach the leadership potential inside.” Consider utilizing MLS alumni to inspire interest!
-
Each school may nominate one primary student and one alternate student. MLS will not contact the alternate unless the primary nominee is unable to attend or does not complete registration. If we have not heard from the primary nominee by February 1, 2027, we will first notify the school before reaching out to the alternate nominee.
-
MLS covers the cost of attendance for the primary nominee. The cost for each additional student's room and board is $350. If your school is interested in sending more than one student, we encourage you to explore fundraising opportunities or seek support from local organizations such as the Optimist Club, Elks Lodge, or other community groups. For additional information or to discuss this option, please email registration@moleadership.com.
-
The nomination form requests both current and future contact information to help MLS maintain communication throughout the nomination and registration process. If your school's contact information changes after submitting a nomination, please email registration@moleadership.com so we can update our records.

MLS is a weekend full of activity and initiative, and we feel that “representative” and “student” do not accurately convey the thoughts and transformations that our attendees engage in. Your attendance at MLS is the beginning of a ripple effect, and ambassadors are nominated or selected by school staff for a reason, with the intent to disperse knowledge founded at MLS to their larger communities. As an “ambassador,” you first represent your community at MLS, then you represent the spirit of MLS back at home and wherever you go from then on, making waves and change.

Students spend the weekend developing leadership skills through interactive workshops, conversations with professionals, small-group discussions, and team-building activities. Students also experience college life by staying in university residence halls, eating in campus dining facilities, and being on Mizzou’s campus. Throughout the weekend, students meet new peers, build meaningful friendships, and gain new perspectives by connecting with other sophomores from across the state!

MLS does not provide or cover transportation costs. However, we do not want transportation to prevent a student from attending. If transportation is a concern, please contact registration@moleadership.com and we will explore potential options and resources that may be available.

Please visit the Locations page for detailed drop-off and pick-up information, including directions and arrival procedures.

We pack as many opportunities into our short days together as we can, and we request that students be present for the entire seminar. While many high school leaders are heavily involved, only one student from each school can be represented and we want them to take the whole experience back to their school and community. We do realize that special circumstances do sometimes occur, so if you have a situation where you are unsure about full attendance, please contact us by email at info@moleadership.com and registration@moleadership.com as soon as possible to discuss possibilities.
-
If your student is unable to attend, please notify us as soon as possible by emailing registration@moleadership.com. Early notification allows us to offer the opportunity to another student.
-
No problem! Simply email registration@moleadership.com with your student's name, high school, and the information that needs to be updated. We will be happy to make any necessary changes to the registration. Please do NOT resubmit the form in its entirety.
